VAT exemption
Products that are designed for the sole purpose of alleviating the symptoms of chronic conditions (i.e. from a physical impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon the person's ability to carry out everyday activities) such as severe allergies (including rhinitis, hay fever and asthma) or other debilitating chronic conditions can be bought VAT exempt. (Note: Cleaning products can not be bought VAT exempt).
1. What makes someone eligible for making VAT exempt purchases?
You're eligible for VAT exempt purchases, if:- you have a chronic sickness, such as an allergy (including rhinitis, hay fever and asthma) or another debilitating disease, or
- your condition is such that it has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon your ability to carry out everyday activities, or
- you are terminally ill
and you are:
- purchasing the air purifier, filter or accessory for your own domestic/personal use or
- purchasing the air purifier, filter or accessory for someone else's domestic/personal use, who suffers with a chronic sickness such as asthma or allergies.
What counts as personal or domestic use?
Personal or domestic use means that the air purifier, filter or accessory are supplied for a person's own private use, rather than for business purposes or a certain group of people in general.
2. How do I register to make a VAT exempt purchases?
To claim VAT exemption on your purchase, please:
- create an account on the Allergy Cosmos website,
- click "Sumbit"
- Under MY ACCOUNT click “Account Information”
- specify which condition you have
- provide an electronic signature by ticking the "tickbox" and verifying that the information you have provided is correct.
Do I need to provide a doctors notice?
No. Filling out the information as explained above will suffice for your purchase to be VAT exempt.
3. How do I exclude VAT from the order total?
To exclude VAT from your purchase:
- put the air purifier, filter or accessory you want to purchase into the shopping cart
- go to the checkout
- add the code "NOVAT" into the VAT exemption box
- press the "Remove VAT" button.
If you are properly registered, and you added the "NOVAT" code to your order, the system will automatically exclude the VAT from your order of IQAir Products.
