The Blueair 605 is part of the ‘New Classic’ range of air purifiers by Blueair and is the follow up model to the 650E. The Blueair 605 has an improved airflow rate of up to 25% on the highest speed setting compared to the 650E model. The Blueair 605 has an airflow rate of 1104 m3/h compared to the 832 m3/h of the 650E. The size, weight, overall look and the filtration technology used on the Blueair 605 however, is exactly the same. The new features of the Blueair 605 is its Wi-Fi connectablility, enabling you to connect with the air purifier from your phone, Wi-Fi network and make adjustments to how the unit operates. As such it can easily be positioned next to walls or in narrow spaces and also comes with castors. The castors make moving the unit around much easier. The unit also has a metal body, a white/grey gloss finish and has the same style Blueair are famous for.
Below is a comparison table which shows what the differences are between the Blueair 600 series range of air purifiers.
The Blueair 605, as with all other Blueair air purifiers, uses a Three-Stage Progressive Filter – a filter that resembles having many filters in one.
The filter is made up out of three different levels of millions of ultra thin fibers, and with its ‘lock-in’ design, once captured the particles are not re-released back into your environment, even when the filter is heavily loaded.
The first layers capture larger particles like pollen and dust, and the later layers capture smaller particles like bacteria and exhaust particles.
The 605 filter kit includes three filters with enhanced active carbon; one for each side that clean air is released from the unit.
Regular air purifier filters are thinner and mostly consist of the same fiber size and material throughout, this leads to them clogging up sooner. However, the unique design of the Blueair 605 Three-Stage Progressive Filter resists clogging, and allows the 605 to perform longer on its peak performance.
When the filter needs to be replaced (around every six months), just open the lid, take out the old filter and put the new one in. No screws, hooks or tools are needed.
