The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop forms part of Blueair’s high performance air purifiers. The Pro L is the second largest in their “Pro” line-up and is capable of moving up to 1122 m3/h of air on the highest speed setting. The unit is able to be fitted with a combination of Particle, SmokeStop or Carbon+ filters, depending on the amount of gas and chemical filtration you require. The Pro L SmokeStop can also be equipped with a light scatter (called by Blueair an "Air Intelligence Module") to monitor basic changes in base levels of gas and particle pollution. The AIM also utilises an auto mode which is able to adjust the speed setting of the Blueair Pro L SmokeStop when there is basic changes in pollution levels.
The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop has a modern and sleek look. It uses the same filtration technology as the classic Blueair range (such as the 203, 270E, 450E and 650E) and is constructed from galvanised steel with a white powder coat finish.
The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop is ideally suited to work in large rooms or workspaces while offering a high number of air changes. The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop is very quiet on the lowest speed setting and is not likely to be heard. This makes it a great choice for use in bedrooms or other sound sensitive environments. The unit has decibel levels of 32dB(A) and 34dB(A) on speed setting one and two and can easily be used in rooms up to 30 m2 and achieve 5 air changes as Blueair recommends. On speed setting three, the unit has a sound pressure level of 55dB(A). The unit moves an impressive 1122 m2 on its highest speed setting but would really only be appropriate in non-noise sensitive environments. Blueair measure the sound of their air purifiers in 'sound pressure' as oppose to most other brands that use 'sound power'. Please visit our blog post: How to assess an air purifier’s noise levels?, if you would like more information on how to assess the noise levels of an air purifier.
Due to its high airflow rate, the Blueair Pro L SmokeStop moves air like a fan would, which may appear to make the room cooler compared to the ambient temperature, and can lead to the feeling that the Pro L is pushing out cold air when it is not - due to the 'wind-chill factor' of moving air.
This Blueair Pro L SmokeStop is ideal for large size spaces and will help in effectively filtering the following:
- Pet Allergens (cat, dog, horse etc.)
- Heavy Dust
- Fine Dust
- Dust Mite Allergens
- Transportation (cars, trains, planes)
- Industry Pollution
- Other Volatile Organic Compounds
- Fungal Spores
In combination with SmokeStop or Carbon+ Filter:
|Gases & Fumes
- Building Material
- Pet Dander (cats, dogs etc.)
- Cooking Odours
- Musty Smells
The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop has two simple PLUS and MINUS buttons which turn the air purifier on and off, as well as cycle through the three speed settings. The unit also has a filter life indicator, to inform you when you need to replace the filter. The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop is a very nice looking air cleaner and its large LCD display makes it simple to use.
The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop can be equipped with Blueair’s “air intelligence module” (AIM), a light scatter to detect changes in particle and gas filtration levels. The (AIM) also allows you to set the air purifier to auto mode which means it will adjust the running of the fan according to changes in base levels of pollution detected.
The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop is perfectly suited to large rooms. It can be effectively deployed in large bedrooms, living rooms or most workplaces. The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop utilises two powerful, energy efficient fans to deliver clean air fast.
Design and Durability
Blueair designed the Pro L SmokeStop to be both stylish and functional. The design allows the unit to be placed along walls so that space can be maximised and enables the air purifier to blend easily into the environment. The casing of the Blueair Pro L SmokeStop is constructed from galvanised steel which is environmentally friendly and has a white/grey glossy finish. The filters for the Blueair Pro L SmokeStop are made from 100% polypropylene fibers so that they are easier to recycle
The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop uses Blueair’s three-stage filtering system, and even though it is called 'HEPASilent', the Blueair Pro L SmokeStop does not actually use HEPA filtration but a combination of ionisation, electrostatic and mechanical filtration.
As air gets pulled into the Blueair Pro L SmokeStop, it enters an ion chamber where the particles are negatively charged. This makes them 'stick' to the surface of the filter fibers more easily. Blueair Pro L SmokeStop’s initial filter fibers enable it to capture larger particles such as large dust and pollen for example and the smaller layers captures particles such as bacteria and exhaust particles such as PM2.5 and PM10. The filter fibers differing densities, means the filter does not get clogged as quickly as regular electrostatic filters would. This enables the Blueair Pro L SmokeStop to maintain a higher level of filtration efficiency compared to regular inoisers. The filtration efficiency of the Blueair Pro L, however, will change over time and will depend on speed setting and the remaining life of the filter. On average it is recommended to change the filters every 6 months.
The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop comes fitted with a 'SmokeStop' filter which contains 280 grams activated carbon. The carbon in the filter has been treated with magnesium dioxide and copper oxide so that it is able to better capture chemicals and odours. The SmokeStop filter has been designed to work in environments where gaseous pollutants is of concern. The fibers in the SmokeStop filter are naturally antibacterial, preventing bacteria and mould growth. .
The Blueair Pro L SmokeStop can also be equipped with a “Carbon+” filter . This adds an additional level of carbon filtration in order to filter out more gases, odours and VOC’s.
